Across the calm dark water it lays a long, shimmering path of reflection, a ribbon of pale silver running unbroken from the foreground all the way to the level horizon. The sea below moves only gently, its surface broken into countless small ripples that catch the glow and release it again in soft, glinting fragments. To either side the water falls away into deep, near-black blue, so that the eye is led naturally along the bright corridor of moonlight to the meeting of sea and sky. Balanced and perfectly still, the scene holds the deep hush of a clear night far out from any shore.
