Light falls from the left and slides down each petal, turning the outer edges almost apricot while the folds keep a warm salmon shadow, and a fine pale rim traces every curve. The stem rises in a clean pale green line, joined by a single broad leaf that twists and doubles back on itself with the ease of something still growing. The finish is smooth and almost botanical, every vein and crease of the bloom rendered without a visible stroke. Isolated in that dark space, the flower reads as a portrait rather than as part of a bouquet.
